This Week

You all fenced well yesterday, we are very proud of all of you.
This meet helped us to see what we need to work on until States. We have a lot of work to do. We need to be much more focused in practice and work on the drills and spend less time playing around. It was very clear to us which fencers have been taking practice seriously and those who haven't based on the results. Bob and I are going to start giving individual lessons, this means we won't be able to watch you the entire time and make sure you're working. The choice is yours on how you want to spend your practice time, you can spend it goofing off or syou can pend it trying to be the best fencer you can be. As a coaches, we'll be focusing our efforts on the fencers who are working hard and taking practice seriously.
No practice on Monday - No school.
Practice Tuesday - Thursday. Even if one of these days is your day off, feel free to come!
Friday - 8 am leave for Midwest.
I noticed a lot of cameras taking picture of the event, if you could please get me the pictures, I'm planning on making a slide show of the season for the banquet.

Socks!

You must wear your SPA socks or else. (So, I still have to figure out what the or else is, Bob says, you won't compete, but we all know that I like to win.) I'll bring the socks for the new people to practice today. I have 8 pairs of new socks on sale for $10 each, so, if you can't find your socks, I'll be happy to sell you a pair!

I'll do the detailed report and indicators either Thursday or Sunday - too tired tonight, you know I'd make mistakes.
We were very impressed with your fencing this first meet. There were many pleasant surprise as well as a clearer picture of what we need to work on.
The meet MVP's are Phillip for doing his job and winning his two bouts to help lead the Men's Foil Team to victory and to the Women's Sabre squad who dominated the Roseville Team - Well Done. You'll also get your gear and certificates next week after this crazy tournament is over. Congratulations!
A couple of reminders: Get all your gear together and make sure it is working. I expect to see EVERYONE in their SPA socks this weekend. The shipment for the new socks came today and I will get them to you in the next few days.
Make sure you keep track of your gear at the meets, I came home with a jacket and three masks. Laura is missing her black and white nike shoes, please look in your bag for them. Try to keep your bag closed so stuff won't walk away or get mixed up.
Great job tonight - Thanks again to the Dougherty's for hosting dinner and to the families who brought drinks and snack today.
Good Luck to Grace Hartman and Jonathan Wald who are fencing in Atlanta this weekend.
M-T-R - Regular Squad Practices - Check with Bob P. and make sure all of your equipment works!
Wednesday - Meet against Roseville. Meet by Mr. Brown's office to board the bus to Roseville. Dinner at Dougherty's (about 1 mile away from the high school) right after the meet.
